The moment u walk in you feel like u went back in time and the staff is amazing best part hand made never frozen hash browns come for your self
MorePleasant, fast service. Good breakfast comfort foods.
I went to this restaurant in the morning, and I saw one guy came out from the kitchen and refused to serve Muslim family with 5 kids. They were celebrating Eid. Which is one of the big holidays. That worker was racist and stupid.
MoreThe Golden Touch is a favorite place for us to eat. They only serve Breakfast and Lunch, but they have a excellent selection on their menu the amount of food you get for the price is outstanding. The only downside is the service is very inconsistent. Sometimes we get fair to good service and other times the waitress we get is very unfriendly. The excellent food more than makes up for the problem with service.
MoreReally good food and what seemed like a never ending coffee cup. Really good and friendly service.
MoreThis place is definitely in need of some work, but the breakfast was fine and the coffee was serviceable. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, but if someone offered to pay for breakfast I'd go without hesitation.
MoreBest breakfast place around! Unfortunately they might be closing and more apartments are going up in their place! 😡 Definitely go and show your support for the Golden Touch, it might not be around that much longer!
MorePlace has been in dire need of some investment for over a decade, maybe two. However, it is a cozy place for coffee and breakfast if you're not turned off by taped seats and deteriorating 70s decor
MoreI like the quality of their food
Old place, wasn't sure if it was safe to eat here, food was Awesome, service was Awesome and no problems later...
MoreI just left this place. There were ants in my soda cup my water cup had lipstick on it. The waitress was very rude and displayed very poor attitude to me and my family. Then when I left with my family, one of the employees flipped us off through the window. This place is horrible. They didn't even try to save their customers. They were very hostile.
MoreGreat food, amazing 1970s vibe and decor. Price is more than reasonable. Get something with eggs! They have mastered cooking to order.
MoreBest waffles I have ever had. Friendly atmosphere and great service.
This is a racist stupid restaurant that denied to serve a muslim family & other Muslim customers today for breakfast in their celebration of Eid festival! I live in this Neighborhood in SW Portland & i am disgusted of what happened! No room for hate!
MoreClassic American diner. extensive menu. Best hashbrowns in the universe. open breakfast and lunch only.
MoreAs often as possible when I drive into town to visit the folks I try to have a meal here. Portions are generous. Prices have climbed a little but still well worth the experience. Never had a bad meal here.
MoreThis place is as good as ever! WE LOVE GOLDEN TOUCH!
Love the 70”s look inside food is good quick and friendly service highly recommend
MoreBreakfast January 2, 2017. Don't waste your time in this place. It smells bad, there is duct tape holding the booths together, the food is terrible and over priced. Coffee tasted like it was made with mop bucket water. Awful place! The other reviews on this page must be from people who are paid for good reviews.
MorePretty good. Too bad they're closing in a few months.
Wonderful experience. stopped while driving through the area and enjoyed hot coffee, fresh food and smiling faces
MoreWe've been eating at the Golden Touch since we moved to Portland over 12 years ago. It's the perfect greasy spoon with all your favorite breakfast and lunch items. It's family owned and operated, and many of the waitresses have worked there for decades (!). I highly recommend the biscuits and sausage gravy, and the belgium waffle is to die for. Yum!
MoreYuck! Even if you were my worst enemy I would still tell you not to eat there. They are closed now. A skyscraper is going up there. No skyscraper now. A vegan restaurant is opening there. I think they open 03/01/ 19The vegan place is going to be called "The Ultimate " . The guy owns a Vegan restaurant in Salt Lake City. Who knows?Vegan food sucks.
MoreThe restaurant's design is very outdated, both interior and exterior, however the food and service is excellent. Add in the fact that the portions are generous and the prices fair, and you have one of my favorite breakfast restaurants in southwest Portland. They have the typical greasy spoon fare, with an expansive menu. I usually get the Chef's Special, the Swedish Pancakes being my personal favorite. The Onion Rings are also amazing. Additionally, the service here is quick and friendly.A great place to stop after a hard day's work.
MoreOld family style restaurant, good food, moderately priced, in disrepair.
I see no reason to wait in line for any brunch place when I can get my food here within ten minutes of arriving. This place is about as unpretentious as they come. It looks like it dropped straight out of a Tarantino film, rough edges and all. The place might not be aesthetically pleasing to everyone, but there's nothing to complain about where service and value are concerned. Excellent coffee, good food for the price, family-friendly, and the staff are wonderful.
MoreFantastic food and service: straightforward diner fare, classic greasy spoon with unpretentious and friendly service. My only gripe are the odd hours, sometimes they are bafflingly closed an hour or more early, or shut entirely on random business days.
MoreThe best greasy spoon around! Great staff and authentic retro decor. Pretty much always eat here at least once when in town.
MoreI’ve eaten several times at this restaurant seems like a very good family restaurant a lot of locals in the community I believe go quite often the waitresses always friendly and professional and even the cook will draw a hand up and say hello I really enjoyed going there
MoreAmazing piece of history catch it while you can
When you walk into to the Golden Touch, you walk through time. This place is the culmination of the best decades of diner culture. 70's & 80's decor will likely draw in anyone obsessed with vintage authenticity and all that jazz. But what really struck me about this place, is how unaware it is of itself. With top notch customer service and delicious fare, this restaurant just feels friendly. A local diner, a golden touch (i had to).
MoreAlways a favorite. It's not pretty. It's not shiny. It's just always there and always dependable for a decent breakfast.
MoreThe food is always good and the service is great. Not fine dining, bit exactly what you want from a diner. We alwayse feel welcome! (Try the biscuits and gravy)
MoreI've eaten here twice so far. The food is really good, and the portions are generous. Clean and neat. Decent service too. Will make this my go-to weekend breakfast place.
MoreThe breakfast experience is a must and this place is old school and the food brought memories back. In my humble opinion, this is a good place to eat. The food was great and prices reasonable.
MoreThey had friendly service, and was nice and quiet in the early morning. Great place to eat breakfast or lunch affordably.
MoreMy husband and I love this place. Great food, nice serving size, affordable, and friendly service. We will certainly miss it when it's replaced by yet another expensive apartment complex.
MoreGreat place. Being vegan I usually don't order off the menu. The chef does a fabulous job with my requests. Friendly staff. Large portions. Wonderful prices for this part of SW Portland.
MoreLove this place. It's a fast friendly standard diner. No tricks or gimmicks.
Loved the food, wait staff & view. Older establishment showing signs of wear, but in a much loved way. Sad to say, tho', the building is slated to be demolished. Patronize them now for down home, local sourced, old fashioned comfort food.
MoreSwedish pancakes are the best. Large portions, quick service.
Customer service was lovely. Food was delicious, it was really old school which was cool. It could use a good deep cleaning, but the food made up for it!
MoreThis place has been amazing from the first time we came in years ago. It has gone through a close and re open and we will always support Golden Touch as long as we can!
MoreI wonder if the managements will ever try to see what’s going on in their business. They are so rude employees and will never serve you as long as you are deferent from them. Come on guys we don’t need racism in 2018
MoreRude staff. Overpriced for the amount of food served. The only plus is that it was fast.
MoreFood took a little longer than expected but it was really good. I ordered the Polish pancakes with lemon and powdered sugar and it was delicious! One whole plate of food was enough to make you want to sleep right then and there.
MoreOUT OF BUSINESS. Used to be one of my favorite meeting spots. Not sure what they are doing now, but 3 years from now the place will be low income housing.
MoreIt's not a fancy dancy Portland brunch place. It's a classic sort of diner. The coffee wasn't anything special but the food was surprisingly good for a right-off-the-interstate breakfast place (the hash browns are great, not that frozen mush you get at some places). The service was superb as well. Really solid diner for a good price.
MoreThe food was decent. The ants crawling on the table grossed me out. The CONSTANT bitching by the waitress and chef was off putting. Literally spent the whole time bad talking customers that were pulling into the parking lot and hoping they weren't coming in. Seeing as how the place was slower than molasses in an Alaskan winter, you would think they would want the customers.
MoreThis is a favorite greasy dinner for early morning food that my family and I visit on the regular. The food is quick and you don't have to wait in line. The atmosphere is what I like the best actually. While everyone low rating complains of the duct taped booths and rude staff, I think it all adds charm. They aren't rude they are saucy! There is a difference. If you are in the mood for some no bs greasy American breakfast food in a retro 70s setting this is the spot in Portland. Leave your pretentiousness at the door and yo will do fine.
